The Sephora Play! March 2018 box had a Festival of Beauty theme. I expected a lot more color and glitter with that name. This is box #677.
I’ve taken this photo with a grey background to reflect my mood undertaking a new unboxing project. I have a lot of subscription boxes sitting on a bookshelf waiting to be photographed, put into my Sortly database, and organized into my collection. I’m going to try to blow through them all in a short amount of time so that I can get to shopping my stash!
Lancome Hypnose Drama Instant Full Body Volume Mascara
Sephora Play, Sephora Favorites kits, and free promos are good at keeping me flush in mini mascaras. I can’t recall the last time I have bought a full-size one. The only issue with this is I grab one out of the bin and go. It makes it hard for me to differentiate formulas.
Sephora Collection Contour Eye Pencil 12hr Wear Waterproof
Sephora Collection cosmetics are underrated in the beauty world. This formula is my second-favorite next to Marc Jacobs Highliners. They stay put! I am excited to get a color other than black–my main gripe with eyeliners presented in beauty boxes. The color shown is Flirting Game, a deep brown with a texture between shimmer and glitter.
Dr. Jart+ Premium Beauty Balm SPF 45
I opened this while taking the photo. I expected something heavily perfumed but found no discernable scent. I’m rather excited to try it now.
Sephora Collection Cream Lip Stain Liquid Lipstick
Again, a Sephora Collection product that outshines many of its liquid lip color counterparts. I was happy not to receive the red. That one gets a lot of rotation in promotion at Sephora. Bohemian Purple is a nice dark plum (too dark for festival season though!). There is a set of minis of this product if that interests you.
Briogeo Blossom & Bloom Ginseng + Biotin Volumizing Spray
I have thick, long hair. I’m not sure a volumizing spray is for me at all. Sephora lately has been having issues with sending me products that I don’t believe match my hair type. But, Briogeo gets a lot of praise. I’ll give it a try. At the very least, maybe I can use it for a hair refresher/hair perfume on yucky Summer days.
Marajo Cleansing Creme & Deep Treatment Butter
This item got repeated in the June Play! box. That’s rather surprising. But since I have long hair and find these foil packets rather useless due to that, at least I have enough product to piece together for a solid review.
I’ll give the Sephora Play! March 2018 box a 4.5 out of 6. I am getting smothered in mascara minis and another full point off for hair products in foils. Although, as I mentioned, I got a repeat of the Marajo products in June, so I’m giving a half point back.
Because I have an archivist’s heart, here are the boxes from March boxes past.
